Gaspar Pérez Martínez has PhD degree by the University of Nottingham (U.K.), spent two postdoctoral stages in the Netherlands and Germany and since 1990 he has been a scientist of the CSIC (Spanish National Research Council) in Valencia. He has always been interested in the physiology, genetics and opening new biotechnological applications of lactobacilli. In recent years, with the implementation of NGS methods his laboratory focussed on the pathways of Bacteria/Host communication and the potential of bacterial extracellular vesicles in this context.
